Welcome to the
Chislet Colliery Welfare Association Bowls Club
Our club is situated by the recreation ground, The Avenue, Hersden, and has been a part of the village amenities since 1938.
Chislet Bowls Club offers a warm welcome to bowlers of all abilities and we invite you to enjoy our informative web site and to visit our ground to experience this healthy and enjoyable sport for all ages.
The present Clubhouse, positioned on the north side of the green, provides a pleasant area from which to view the games as well as facilities for changing rooms, catering and a small licensed bar for members and their guests.
Bowls truly is "a sport for all" it can be played by all ages, abilities and sexes making it the perfect sport for all members of your family to enjoy together. Like all sports, the object of bowls is essentially simple, but to be able to play consistently well demands determination, concentration and practice.

HERSDEN COMMUNITY PUT BACK CHARITY
Our Bowls Club maintains a long-standing relationship with the village of Hersden, from whom the original founders of the club came from during the time that the miners of Chislet Colliery were given the land by the Coal Board just before the last war. As well as the annual match between the village and the Bowls Club, we are invited to participate in the village quiz each year, where we always hope to make up at least one table in the Welfare Hall to play against the other village organisations to raise money.
Since 2013, the annual matches between Village and Club have now raised over £1778, even though no matches were able to start in 2020 and 2021 because of covid restrictions.

NOTICES & LATEST NEWS:From the Chairman
We are pleased to announce that we have recently purchased a number of bowling aids to help the disabled and those with impaired movement enjoy the sport of bowls. This was only made possible with a grant of £500 from the Aylesham & District Community Workshop Trust to whom we are very grateful.
